The former CEO of Sunoco John “Jack” G. Drosdick and two other tech executives have given a combined $13.5 million to Villanova University toward its $135 million renovation of the school’s engineering building, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Drosdick is a 1965 graduate of Villanova’s College of Engineering and he has chaired Villanova’s board of trustees.

He was president of Sunoco Inc. for eight years. He retired in 2008.

Drosdick donated $5 million of the $13.5 million. In 2014 he donated $2.5 million toward Villanova’s previous capital campaign.

Also donating $5 million was Richard K. Faris, a retired senior vice president of product development at Oracle Corp.’s Primavera Global Business Unit.

Nancy K. Dicciani, co-founder and CEO of medical device firm RTM Vital Signs, donated $3.5 million.

Dicciani and Faris graduated from the College of Engineering in 1969. Faris received a master’s degree in civil engineering in 1970.

The Center for Engineering Education and Research is adding an additional 150,000 square feet, doubling in size to make room for 11 flexible lab spaces, classrooms and faculty offices.

Construction is expected to be finished in fall 2024.
