Aliese Rosado, Assistant Vice President and Retail Market Manager at Meridian Bank, recently visited the Great Valley School District, along with her colleague, Carl Buchholz, the bank’s SBA Franchise Specialist and a 2009 graduate of Great Valley High School.

The pair presented a $2,500 check to the Great Valley School District Education Foundation (GVSDEF). The EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) donation will support the GVSDEF’s efforts to fund educational opportunities for students and promote innovative possibilities that inspire them.

“As a resident of the Great Valley community, Meridian Bank is home to many GV graduates and current parents, and we’re proud to support our neighbors at the Great Valley School District Education Foundation,” said Meridian Bank CEO Chris Annas.

Through the EITC program, a business can redirect its tax liability by donating to an eligible Educational Improvement Organization (EIO), like the GVSDEF. Tax credits are applied against a business’s state tax liability for the year in which the donation is made. Businesses that commit for two years get a 90 percent credit. The credit is 75 percent of the donation amount for a one-year commitment by the business.

“We are grateful for a partnership with GVSDEF that opens opportunities for our local businesses to contribute to our schools,” said Great Valley School District Superintendent Dan Goffredo. “When these kinds of collaborative partnerships happen, they strengthen not only our schools, but also our community. We thank Meridian Bank for their generous contribution and for their support of students and learning in Great Valley.”
