Wrightstown Family, Lit Up by Light Display Win, Donates Prize to Brighten Spirits of Pediatric Patients
The annual sparkle of a Bucks County home’s December light display will brighten more than just the neighbors’ eyes, reports Kate Fishman for the Doylestown Patch.
The Moskaitis residence at 301 Matthews Lane, Wrightstown, took the top award in the outdoor decorating contest of radio station 94.5 PST, besting hundreds of entries in N.J. and Pa.
Better still, the family is sharing its good fortune.
The prize package included a $500 award, which the Moskaitis’ are donating to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Department of Gastroenterology, a meaningful resource to both the clan itself and the local community.
“Our extra-large family of 11 children of various ages are simply delighted — as are we their parents — with the news of this honor that we’ve received,” Hillary Moskaitis wrote in an email acknowledging the win. “We have enjoyed displaying Christmas lights and greeting every season of the year with as much beauty as possible.”
She continued: “We want to thank everyone in our own community as well as many neighboring communities that have voted for us and who have come by to share in our Christmas joy and have spread the spirit of Christmas right along with us.”
More on this Christmas light display with an altruistic twist is at the Doylestown Patch.
