Shamus Clancy and Ashley Suder kicked off their relationship with a very, very PDA (public display of affection). As Philadelphians celebrated the Eagles 2018 Super Bowl win by joyously flooding the streets, they recreated an iconic WWII photo for social media. That kiss between two just-met sports fans now has deeper significance, reports Tom Avril for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Amid the mass of people celebrating the Eagles v. Patriots Super Bowl win, Clancy was reminded of another public celebration: the ending of World War II. He playfully tweeted a vintage photo of a sailor kissing a girl in the ecstasy following Japan’s 1945 surrender.

Suder took it as an invitation to recreate the image and tweeted back her interest in participating in the shoot.

They met at the corner of South Broad and Federal Streets, posed for a friend, *click*, and departed.

Its posting generated a lot of eyeballs. So many that PHL17 tracked the two down and reunited them the following day for an interview.

After that, things started really clicking. Clancy and Suder found they shared more than just a devotion to the Birds; their music and movie tastes were equally aligned.

The relationship went as deep as a receiver who breaks free and gallops downfield.

Clancy proposed to Suder (and she accepted!) at the same intersection where their picture was staged.
