Ambler Savings Bank is pleased to announce the election of Montu Patel to its board of trustees.

Patel serves as the President of Innovative Hospitality Management (IHM), in Newtown and is also the Principal at Lotus Park Senior Living in Marietta, Ga.

He grew up in the hotel industry, taking interest in the hotel management business his father built for over 20 years. IHM owns and operates eight hotel properties in DC, Md., NJ, Pa., and Va.

Previously, he was the Director of the Western and Southern Region American Express Travel Service Offices. During his time there he was responsible for managing 26 travel locations with over 250 employees who deliver premium travel services to American Express Card members and other customers.

Serving the community is a value that Patel and Ambler Savings Bank share closely.

Patel serves on the New Hope-Solebury School Board and the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology Executive Council. He is also very active with the National Brain Tumor Society and personally coordinates an annual 5K run and walk to raise money for the organization in memory of his late sister, Payal Patel.

“I hope to gain more understanding about the banking industry and how the bank supports small diverse business owners,” says Patel. “The timing seems right after I called on the services of Ambler Savings Bank to garner PPP Loan approval during the pandemic — an arduous time in the hotel industry.”

As for what he hopes to help the bank achieve, Patel says, “I’m looking forward to helping educate small and minority business owners to think of Ambler Savings Bank as an option for their lending and banking needs.”

Patel holds a BA in Psychology from Vassar College and a Master’s Degree from New York University.

He earned his Certified Travel Industry Executive certificate in 2005 from The Travel Institute and is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt.
