CleanSpace Modular, centered in Doylestown, is now the fastest-growing company in the Greater Philadelphia area. Its product line — “clean rooms” that filter out harmful, airborne particles — has become essential to healthcare systems and pharmaceutical companies nationwide. Lisa Dukart sifted through the details of its success for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company manufactures standardized, pre-engineered, prefabricated modular clean rooms. These are then installed onsite for life-sciences companies. Fabricating the spaces this way saves 30-40 percent of build time, according to the company.

But that speed does not overshadow safety concerns. All its manufacturing facilities adhere to regulatory requirements from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other oversight organizations.

“Every day we can get a job done earlier for a client is another day they can make a product to save someone’s life,” said George Wiker, CEO.

The performance figures — a 340 percent growth rate in two years — are impressive. But the results are not out of line of the principles’ projections when launching. Looking forward, they see a $200 million business in the next three years.

But at the core, it’s the opportunity to help that gratifies the company’s c-suite.

“The ability for me in some way to help out companies save people’s lives, that’s pretty amazing,” said Wiker.
