Penn Community Bank proudly announces the naming of Bernard Tynes, who is SVP and Director of Marketing and Data Analytics, to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association.

Tynes is among several new directors added to the board. He has earned this distinction as one of the youngest appointees in the trade association’s history.

Within the Penn Community Bank organization, Tynes leads all marketing and community relations efforts. He recently guided the institution’s mission-based brand messaging.

He is chair of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s Young Professionals Network and a member of its Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Advisory Council.

Further, Tynes has been recognized as one of the region’s Forty Under 40 by the Philadelphia Business Journal and one of Philadelphia’s most influential African Americans by The Philadelphia Tribune.

“We congratulate and welcome our 2021-22 board of directors, led by Chair Wesley M. Weymers and our officer team,” said Duncan Campbell, PA Bankers’ president & CEO.

“We are honored to have some of the most dedicated and committed volunteers of any association in the country, and we look forward to working with them as we continue to represent an expansive and diverse membership and help our members to grow and achieve ongoing success in their communities,” Weymers concluded.

The PA Bankers board of directors oversees the association’s strategic direction, policies, professional development offerings, member services and advocacy efforts.

The 2021-22 service year runs from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
