Manor College Cuts Ribbon on New Veterinary Technology Space Amid Power Outage
Despite a power outage, Manor College officials cut the ribbon on the school’s new Veterinary Technology space, Nevels Hall.
“These renovations will allow us to enhance our program,” said Stephanie Marks, DVM and director of the Veterinary Technology program at Manor College. “Students in the first two years of our program are spent here getting hands-on training that they need in an environment where we can foster our students’ needs.”
The celebratory occasion was not disrupted by storms that affected the power across campus.
With help from a small set of lights powered by a nearby car, the ribbon-cutting was good to go.
The newly opened space features a radiology suite, a cat ward with special fiberglass caging, and a small animal clinical lab. There is also the Drs. Robert and Andrea Orsher Surgical Suite.
The hall was named after Dr. Lourene and Jim Nevels, outdoor enthusiasts who love nature and animals.
“It’s no wonder these two have been such a transformative power for our Veterinary Technology program,” said Dr. Jonathan Peri, President of Manor College. “They have helped to completely create a new space for our program.”
