Penn Community Bank is pleased to announce the Philadelphia Business Journal‘s recognition of Bernard Tynes, Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing and Data Analytics, as one of the publication’s 25 diversity leaders.

“Diversity, equity, and inclusion — from race and ethnicity to gender identity and sexuality — have become top of mind for businesses across the country over the last year. In an already diverse region, Greater Philadelphia companies have a wealth of talent from different backgrounds who are making an impact on the region and its business community through their leadership,” said Lisa Dukart, Associate Editor of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In commenting on his inclusion in the area’s 25 diversity leaders, Tynes said, “I am honored to receive this recognition from the Philadelphia Business Journal. Over the past year, we’ve seen a courageous conversation — both talking and listening — across the region about social justice and inclusion. While the conversation may still be uncomfortable for many, it’s no longer taboo.

“Ultimately, it’s this conversation that fosters hope and a path forward,” he concluded.

In his role at Penn Community Bank, Tynes leads all facets of the institution’s marketing and community relations efforts, including a recent repositioning of the institution’s mission-based brand.

He is a founding member of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Advisory Council, and serves on the association’s board of directors. He is also  board member of United Way of Bucks County.

Tynes has been recognized as one of the region’s Forty Under 40 by the Philadelphia Business Journal and one of Philadelphia’s most influential African Americans by The Philadelphia Tribune.
