Pro football player Josh Adams and Warrington Township officials broke ground at Willow Knoll Park, kicking off its renovation and renaming. Bucks Local News reported on the soon-to-be DocterAdams Community Park.

Growing up, Adams, a Central Bucks High School – South alum and now New York Jets running back, spent hours at Willow Knoll Park. He always thought it could benefit from a good refurb.

That vision took a physical step forward at a July 21 groundbreaking.

“My goal is to give back to my neighborhood,” Adams said. “I want to inspire kids to go out and play, train and exercise and feel good about their surroundings. The redevelopment can help cultivate their future in a positive way.”

The reimagined park’s new equipment is designed to increase playful physical activity in both children and adults.

“We are pleased and excited to be working with Josh Adams,” said Ruth Schemm, Vice-Chair of the Warrington Board of Supervisors and Board Liaison to the Parks and Recreation Board. “This will become a great gathering place for all ages to recreate.”

Adams was a 2018 Philadelphia Eagles running back before signing with the New York Jets a year later.

Donations and grants fund the project, including a $90,000 Community Development Block Grant from Bucks County.
