M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant is being filmed in Philadelphia this week for its third season. The first two seasons of the Apple TV series were shot in Delaware County and Philadelphia, writes Pat Ralph for PhillyVoice.

Additionally, interior sets were built at a former paint factory in Bethel, and Center City provided exteriors. Handling locations for the series is the Garnet Valley company, Uncle George Productions, LLC.

Season Three shooting started in March. It includes scenes on the Ocean City, NJ, boardwalk.

Finally, this week, filming moves to Rittenhouse Square and Fitler Square.

The COVID-19 pandemic delayed second season shooting last March, but it resumed this past September.

M. Night Shyamalan has highlighted Bucks County by shooting a number of his films here, including Signs (2002), Lady in the Water (2006), and The Last Airbender (2010).

“For Servant, placing it right in the center of the city on Spruce Street was a big deal,” Shyamalan said. “All the ideas of what it’s like to walk through the city, or what it’s like to live on that street, are from people that I know. There’s an authenticity to it.”

Servant follows a Philly couple, Dorothy and Sean Turner, who are coping with the tragic loss of their 13-week old infant son.

Viewership for Servant more than doubled in Season 2.
