Two Council Rock High School Students Spread Kindness Through Dance and Music

By

Best friends Kylie and Mary used to visit nursing homes regularly to perform ballet for residents, according to a staff report from 6abc.

Unable to continue their live performances due to the pandemic, these two Council Rock High School students are continuing to spread kindness through dance over Zoom.

They got together earlier this month for a dancing session for the residents of the Sunrise Nursing Home in Abington. They were accompanied on the piano by Kylie’s sister Camryn.

“We’ve been dancing together since we were eight years old,” said Kylie. “Now I am a junior in high school and Mary is a senior. And we still love dancing together.”

The pair calls their group “Dancing in the Moment.” Their main goal is to bring some happiness to those who are struggling with memory loss. They say it is very important to recognize that these people can still feel joy in the moment and the two friends just want to be a part of it.
