New York Times: With Number of Cases Staying Constant, Bucks County Still Remains at Extremely High COVID-19 Risk Level
With the number of cases staying roughly the same over the past two weeks, Bucks County remains at an extremely high risk level for the coronavirus, according to The New York Times.
Still, the numbers of hospitalized patients and COVID-19-related deaths in that period have fallen. The test positivity rate also remained very high, which suggests that the number of cases may be undercounted.
Over the past two weeks, an average of 250 cases per day was reported in the county, which is about the same as the average two weeks ago.
Since the start of the outbreak, approximately one in 15 residents have been infected, totaling 41,946 reported cases.
So far, December remains the month with the highest number of reported cases in Bucks County.
Meanwhile, the average I.C.U. occupancy was at 81 percent as of February 4, falling slightly compared to the reported percentage in the seven days prior.
The rate of cases in Bucks County is higher than in some of its neighboring counties, which are also at very high risk of COVID-19.
