Six dogs have been rescued after being found abandoned inside the Morrisville Dog Park, writes Ryan Hughes for CBS News.

The dogs, left without leashes or identification, were discovered by Arta Szathmary, a regular park visitor, who noted that they appeared healthy and friendly.

A note left at the scene suggested the dogs were rescued from an overcrowded home where the owner could no longer care for them. The person who left the dogs stated they brought the animals to their apartment but, unable to keep them, believed the dog park was the safest place.

Three of the dogs were immediately adopted by park visitors, while the remaining three were taken to the Bucks County SPCA in New Hope, where they are being cared for until new homes are found.

Sarah Barnett, executive director of ACCT Philly, emphasized the importance of reaching out to shelters or rescues before abandoning pets, urging pet owners to seek help before a situation becomes a crisis.
