Delaware Valley University Elevates Mike Isgro ’10 to Head Football Coach
Delaware Valley University provost and vice president for Academic Affairs Dr. Gloria Oikelome and Director of Athletics Dave Duda announced the elevation of Mike Isgro ’10 to head football coach, after a national search.
Isgro has been on the coaching staff at his alma mater since 2015, serving as an assistant coach, special teams coordinator, recruiting coordinator and running backs coach. Before returning to DelVal, Isgro was an assistant coach at Cedar Creek High School for five seasons from 2010-2014.
“We talked to a lot of really great candidates for this position, and we are elated to elevate Mike to head football coach,” said Duda. “He has DelVal personified: an alumnus, Hall of Fame student-athlete, and now leader of our football program. I look forward to Mike building upon our storied history and creating his own legacy.”
During his time as an Aggie, Isgro has won eight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships including six in a row (2017-’23) as a member of the coaching staff and another two as the team’s starting quarterback in 2008 and ’09.
Isgro, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, was the starting quarterback for four years while at DelVal and was a two-year team captain.
In 2008 he was named the conference’s offensive player of the year and earned all-region accolades. He graduated as the program’s all-time leader in career completion percentage with a mark of 55.9 percent He finished second all-time in completions (610), passing yards (7,336), passing touchdowns (61) and total offense (8,621 yards).
Isgro succeeds Duke Greco ’03, the program’s all-time winningest head coach, who recently advanced his career by earning the head football coach position at Division II West Chester University.
Isgro will begin his duties as head football coach immediately.
