Experience Holiday Magic in New Hope: Pennsylvania’s Historic Winter Escape
New Hope is one of few real-life winter wonderlands in Pennsylvania that offers the perfect combination of holiday cheer and historic fun in a gorgeous, picturesque surroundings, writes Kalena Thomhave for The Keystone.
Nestled on the Delaware River, New Hope is less than an hour from Philadelphia and under two hours from New York City. This makes it a perfect spot for urbanites to visit during winter months.
The small town is especially arresting during winter. Visitors can admire the view of the river as they munch on tasty cookies from local bakeries such as Factory Girl Bake Shop. Another great way to spend some time is to catch a scenic ride on the New Hope Railroad.
The Bucks County Playhouse is New Hope’s special attraction. The theater was converted from a grist mill and has hosted a number of famous stars over the years. This winter, the playhouse is showing Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, along with several other exciting shows.
