Liz Wilson, otherwise known as Salty Stella on TikTok and Instagram, has become something of a viral sensation has she shows her viewers how to make the most of an often disregarded practice: dumpster diving.

A mother of two from Bucks County, Wilson has 1.2 million followers on TikTok, who watch her videos that showcase how retailers are throwing away useable goods and contributing to wasteful practices.

Recently, Wilson investigated a dumpster behind a local HomeGoods location, finding a wide array of useable items that would otherwise end up in landfills.

“This is absolutely horrendous,” she said. “The only reason these things were thrown away is because Halloween is over.”

While some might find her practices a bit unorthodox, content creators like her are utilizing a niche practice to expose wasteful practices.
