Maybe it’s the hunt in finding one. Maybe it’s the calorie burn in felling one. Whatever your reason, there’s nothing like the adventure of finding a freshly cut Christmas tree to kickstart the holiday season. Bucks County has plenty of places for this annual adventure, reports American Towns.

Tips for cutting down your Christmas tree:

  • Don’t strike out on your own, axe in hand. Cutting trees from public property is illegal
  • Go early, especially this year, when supply-chain issues are affecting stock
  • Expect a jump in pricing
  • Cut as close to the ground as possible. If your farm doesn’t cut it during bundling, cut the stump again before putting it in water
  • Once it’s up in the house, keep the thermostat at about 65 degrees; cooler temps will keep it from drying
