Jenny Moore is certain that her recovery from a leg amputation and COVID-19 are a direct result of the members of Frazer Mennonite Church. Steven Hoffman, in the Chester County Press, described the physical and spiritual support it provided.

Moore, who is diabetic, was rationing her insulin due to its high cost. She suffered a nasty cut to her foot that worsened.

What was initially projected as a six-month recovery turned into three years.

“I had every complication you could think of,” she said.

She became septic, contracted MRSA (an infection), and dealt with bouts of unconsciousness. Within days, her leg was removed below the knee to stop the infectious spread.

From there, she went to a nursing home but landed back in the hospital in 2020 with COVID-19. Gradually, however, she recovered and was well enough to get vaccinated.

She credits her faith and her fellow worshippers at Frazer Mennonite Church with the turnaround.

“I can’t thank my church family enough,” she said. “They gave me pure love and it made all the difference in my life.”

Now fully vaccinated, she is dreaming of being able to move to West Chester into a new apartment complex.

“God helped me for a reason,” Moore said. “One of my favorite quotes is, ‘Never put a period where God puts a comma.’”
