An October 6 Northampton Township Supervisors meeting will review revised plans for a new Super Wawa in Holland. Jeff Warner, of Bucks Local News, unwrapped the particulars.

The meeting — twice postponed — will consider Wawa’s proposed two-lot subdivision of 5.4 acres at Buck, Holland, and Rocksville Roads. The 7 p.m. meeting will be in person.

A realignment of Holland Road will separate the lots, as well as alleviate traffic congestions further south.

Once realigned, Wawa proposes a 5,585 square foot convenience store and an eight-pump fueling station on the street’s north side, across from Hope Road.

Plans call for nearly 60 onsite parking slots, a rain garden, and a natural buffer comprising trees, shrubs, and grass.

Residents have protested the construction in the past, fearing noise, traffic, light pollution, and other concerns.

“We need something there that won’t negatively impact our lives,” said Charles Chak, a potential neighbor to the store.

“This is going to change our neighborhood. It’s going to devalue our properties. And that money is important to me in retirement. We don’t need that Wawa in our neighborhood.”

Residents objecting to Wawa also cite past assurances that zoning would turn the property into a park or a natural buffer between the area’s residential and commercial real estate pockets.
