The volume and pace of Bucks County real estate transactions has buyers and agents hopping. Anecdotal evidence of the sellers’ market is everywhere. But if there’s any doubt about conditions being red-hot, just ask the staff at the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds. A staff report in Bucks Local News contained details.

The numbers alone tell the story of the skyrocketing real estate transaction rate:

YearTransactions ProcessedMonthly Average
202182,745 (as of July)11,820
202098,1408,178
201974,3783,948

At this pace, the office will handle at least 118,750 real-estate transaction documents in 2021.

“I’m very proud of my staff. They have worked through every phase of this pandemic,” said Robin Robinson, the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds. “I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work.”

Robinson said out of the 34 different document types recorded in the office, “the vast majority of documents being processed this year are deeds, mortgages, and mortgage satisfactions, which is due to refinancing being a hot item.”

The office was able to keep up with the increase in documents, even when the pandemic shut down county buildings. Robinson said she sensed that COVID would create problems and thus sped up some office upgrades. These included a switch from desktop computers to laptops, ultimately allowing staff to work remotely for more than a year.
