DeSales University is giving recent college graduates and business professionals looking to change careers the chance to earn a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in just one year.

The University launched a new accelerated online MBA program last year. Students with a business-related undergraduate degree can complete the program in 12 months.

Those without a business background must complete three, six-week sessions of business foundation courses. Those students will complete their degrees in 15 months.

Karen Kent, director of the MBA program, has a great deal of experience working as an educator in a full-time cohort program. With the job market taking a hit amid the Coronavirus pandemic, Kent thought it was a natural time to offer this accelerated program.

“Our faculty enjoy working with our full-time students” she says. “Our program offers 14 elective focus areas, including healthcare management, supply chain management, cybersecurity, lean/six sigma and project management. Our faculty are made up of deeply experienced executives across many industries; students will have the opportunity to work, learn and grow under the guidance of the finest business educators in their fields.”

The program emphasizes experiential learning, allowing students to interact and learn from business executives. The program is directly connected with the DeSales Career Development Center, enabling students to be well prepared to land their perfect position after graduation.

“What’s unique about our program is that we provide free seminars in career development support,” says Kent. “These seminars will help students discover career fields, hone their executive skills, and explore their leadership styles, all designed to prepare our students for their best futures.”

Classes will be a mixture of asynchronous and synchronous online formats. Students can apply without submitting GMAT scores, but they must have at least a 3.0 GPA for all previous coursework.

Admission preference will be given to students who successfully completed at least one internship or those with career-related job experience. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through August 2021.

The DeSales University MBA program is a leader in online education, ranking on U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 list of Best Online MBA Programs and on the Best Online MBA Program for Veterans list for 2021. It’s also one of the most affordable private-school tuitions in the region.
