Outdoor business at Jules@Market has been brisk in light of the pandemic.

In a rather exclusive best-of list for local crab cakes (only 11 picks), one coveted spot was earned by a Bucks County restaurant. Jules@Market got the nod from Maddy Sweitzer-Lammé, food blogger and restaurant reporter for Philadelphia Magazine

Sweitzer-Lammé praised Julie Soto’s kitchen for not only flavor and freshness but also its admirable stance on sustainable seafood. In addition to the crab cakes, she was a big fan of the jumbo lump with avocado and siracha mayonnaise.

Jules@Market, bearing the branding of both the owner-chef and its Bristol Market Street address, opened in 2017. It took the place of a former liquor store, with the building undergoing a total transformation.

Sweitzer-Lammé calls the décor “date-nite appropriate.”

Chef Soso sources proteins and produce locally. The restaurant’s proximity to the Delaware provides ample access to seafood. Vegetables and fruits come from a site overseen by the Bristol Community Garden Club. Herbs and spices are picked from a nearby hydroponic farm.

Jules@Market is navigating the rough waters of COVID-19 through its takeout menu, an online store and outdoor seating.
