Hooray for play! The Bucks County Children’s Museum is opening again on May 1, emerging from its pandemic closure of more than a year, writes Doug Gross for the New Hope-Lambertville Patch

Staff has rethought some exhibits and revised policies, but in general, the site is ready for pint-sized patrons and their parents.

“We want to approach reopening in a safe and responsible manner,” said museum Executive Director Kelly Krumenacker. “Some exhibits have been modified, and we have added several new high-interest, low-touch activities that we are eager to debut.”

During its closure, staff examined the 10,000-square-foot museum with an eye toward adherence to state-mandated health and safety standards. Employees also incorporated recommendations from the Association of Children’s Museums, a worldwide organization established in 1962.

Among its many healthful upgrades, the site now sports a hospital-grade purification system.

Most visitation policies regarding ticket purchases, capacities, masks and birthday parties are revised.
