While Bucks County has the means to start vaccinating people by the thousands, due to the shortage of the COVID-19 vaccine it will be able to only tackle hundreds of the hundreds of thousands who are waiting for their turn to be vaccinated, according to a Deanna Durante report for NBC10 Philadelphia.

“We are not getting the amount of vaccine we need,” said Robert Harvie, JR., Bucks County Commissioner.

County officials have also been critical of the state’s coronavirus vaccine rollout, which they have said is causing confusion where there should be none.

“Everybody is frustrated,” said Diane Ellis-Marseglia, Busck County Commissioner. “Nobody knows what to do.”

She also added that Bucks County is one of the six counties that have a health department, “so we believe that if you have a health department, you want to let the health department handle it.”

However despite the problems, the commissioners say they are planning to proceed with vaccinating people at the county’s three community college sites starting on Tuesday.

Those who are registered for a vaccine will be provided with a link for their appointment.
